Flickr is a revolution in photo storage, sharing and organization, making photo management an easy, natural and collaborative process. Get comments, notes, and tags on your photos, post to any blog, share and more! It is certainly the best online photo management and sharing application in the world.

Developed by Ludicorp, a Vancouver-based company. Flickr originally focused on a multi user chat room called flickrlive with real-time photo exchange capabilities. It was also more of photos collected on the web rather than photos taken by the users themselves.

I like the way the photos are organized and shared with people all across the Internet. In the same likeness I love the fact that the public can make photos private or accessible. In terms of downloading the pictures, they are also those that can be downloaded and the restricted ones.

The picture can be uploaded and downloaded in different sizes. Depending on the original size the site has capabilities to resize the photos to different sizes making it easier to download for specific purposes.

Works for me as a graphic designer as I do most of my research online. I always download pictures and store them in my computer for as long as I am doing a certain project. Flickr is a tool that has assisted in many ways, as you will always find a topic to pick pictures from the tones of blogs found on Flickr.
